Heart Of Dubrovnik Walk

Offer Image
Walk through the iconic Pile Gate, explore Renaissance art housed in a monastery and more on this epic private walking tour in the heart of Dubrovnik.

Make your way down the Dubrovnik's Stadium, pass through Pile Gate and gaze on scenic views of this medieval city when you embark on this epic walking tour. Your private tour includes an expert guide who will take you to explore the city's iconic monuments, such as the Dominican Monastery, the Onofrio Fountain and Rector's Palace to gaze on beautiful Gothic-style architecture and art. It's the ideal tour for cultural connoisseurs and art aficionados alike.

Start off your tour once you land at your port, where your local expert guide will meet you in the harbor. Follow your guide as you walk towards Dubrovnik, stop along the mountain, and take beautiful landscape photos of this ancient medieval city. Dubbed the "Pearl of the Adriatic" and also known as "Casa Antiguo," Dubrovnik is more than a millennia-old and features architectural wonders, including the 14th-century Pile city gate- the city's historical entrance that features Gothic-style stone arches and served as the King Landing's entrance in the popular HBO series Game of Thrones. You'll venture through this epic entrance and make your way to Dubrovnik's Old Town's main street Stadun. This is one of the most popular streets in the city that's paved with limestone and stretches just less than a quarter-mile long from Pile Gate to the port.

You'll continue your walking tour down the iconic road and visit the Dominican Monastery to view a collection of paintings from the Renaissance era. This Gothic-style monastery was built in the 11th century and is a primary monument in Dubrovnik, thanks to its collection of religious artifacts, altarpieces, and intricate chapel. You'll also gaze on some of Europe's finest collections of silver and gold relics when you make a stop at the 12th-century built Cathedral, which was reconstructed atop the ruins of the Cathedral destroyed in the 1667 earthquake.

Continue your walking tour learning and passing by other Dubrovnik monuments like the Church of San Las and the Rector's Palace; a former palace that also served as the rector and Government of the Independent Republic of Dubrovnik. Stop by the Sponza Palace and the Onofrio Fountain; an ornate circular spring water fountain built in the 15th century that sits near the Pile Gate. Before your tour ends, you'll get enough leisure time to explore Casco Antiguo before returning to your post destination.

With so many places to explore and relics to see, this private, guided walking tour offers the chance to immerse yourself in Croatian culture. Sign up for this cultural experience and get ready to experience the medieval city of Dubrovnik for memories that will last a lifetime!

Please Note: Boat tours are weather permitting and the schedule may be subject to change. Entrance fees to the Dominican Monastery (4 EUR)and the Cathedral (2 EUR) are not included and can be paid directly at the sites on the day of the tour.
